Using Tinker cad, I created a custom fidget toy because I wanted it to help improve my concentration. The software made it easy to experiment with different shapes and sizes for the perfect fit. Once the digital model was finished, I was able to bring my idea to life through 3D printing. Now, I have a personalized tool that successfully keeps my hands busy and my mind focused.
During this process, I learned how to make holes in shapes. I practiced using different tools and techniques to create them accurately. This helped me understand how shapes can be modified for specific purposes. Overall, the process improved my skills and confidence in working with shapes.

My project connects to the Global Collaborator because the project is published on a website. This allows people from anywhere to view and interact with it.
A challenge I overcame on this project was not knowing how to hollow out shapes. At first, this made the design process difficult. I was able to do it by asking a classmate for help and learned the correct steps. After that, I was able to hollow out shapes successfully on my own.
Given the chance to do it again again, I would change the scale I used. I made the shapes too large and uneven in size. Because of this, the overall design looks a bit strange. I was able to do it by adjusting the scale would help the shapes look more balanced and realistic.
Hastings High School’s Career and Technical Education program offers classes such as Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design program, CTE program at Hastings High School. It focuses on designing and improving how things are built or created. This project helped me practice skills used in engineering design.
My project connects to careers as a 3D specialist because I modeled and created an object using digital design tools. This is similar to the work 3D specialists do in fields like engineering, gaming, and manufacturing. The project shows how a digital model can be brought to life in the real world.
