I pad, Computer, printer parts
What is your plan to create in this project?
To build a 3D printer
What unique qualities will your project have?
we built a 3D printer
Daily logs
I created my subpage and got all the pieces out of the box and put together the base.
We added the moters and put in all of the screws/bolts and answers.
we connected the thing from day 2 to the motor
we built and connected the power supplies.
we connected the 2 pieces together
finished back pannel assebaliy
Started assembaling the heat pad
Connected the peices together
built the slider/printing part
we started attaching the rail way /printer drawler
we put the moter and belt on the (XY carrie)
we put them together
Added the ink dispencer
today we finished the printer head and put the front coner supports on
We attached the top part of the roof/walls
connected this peice and connected the wire
covered the cablevboxes
we added another wall a peices of the glass
put the scren on the door
Dissasembled part of it because rail cam apart and did test runs
we put it back on and ran some tests
we ran more test it work out good
worked on reflection and video
Worked on reflection and turned in
Using an iPad computer and 3D printer parts, I created a 3D printer because I wanted to test my hands-on ability. I carefully assembled each component, making sure everything was connected correctly. After setting it up, I configured the software on the iPad to control the printer. This project helped me learn more about both hardware and software while improving my technical skills.
During this process, I learned how to combine different electronic parts with walls to create a 3D printer. I practiced connecting and organizing components so that they worked smoothly together. I also learned how to control and operate a printer, including setting it up and troubleshooting basic issues. Overall, this experience helped me develop technical skills and a better understanding of how electronic and mechanical systems work together.
The seven standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project connects to the Global Collaborator standard because it involves sharing my work with others around the world. By doing this, I am contributing ideas, learning from feedback, and engaging with a wider audience beyond the classroom.
A challenge I faced during this project was not knowing how to connect all the wires correctly. At first, it was confusing to figure out where each wire needed to go and how to secure them tightly. I overcame this by using pliers to grip and plug the wires firmly into their proper spots. Through this experience, I learned the importance of patience, problem-solving, and using the right tools for the job.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change how fast paced we tried to go. The reason why I would change it is because when we thought we were done the belt that the actual printer part used to slide around and print. So we hade to take apart and rebuild the actual printer.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. It connects because we engineered/ built a 3D printer and made it work.
My project connects to careers in mechanical engineering because we tested a 3D printer to make sure it printed and moved correctly. This process involved understanding how the different mechanical parts worked together to create smooth and accurate motion. I also learned how engineers troubleshoot and solve problems when machines don’t work as expected. Overall, this experience gave me a better idea of what a mechanical engineer does and how important precision and testing are in their work.
my reflection was made better with Ai from what I type already
