I created a stop‑motion video about bullying using Legos and an iPad. My group chose this topic because we felt bullying is an important issue that needs more awareness. We hoped the video would help shed light on the problem and encourage people to stop bullying.
During the project, I learned how to use all of the tools in Imoatin. This included learning how to take pictures, edit scenes, and put everything together. These skills helped make the stop‑motion video successful.
The seven standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project connects most to the Global Collaborator standard. This is because we worked together to make a video and published it on our website.
One challenge I faced during this project was that the Lego pieces kept falling apart. This made it difficult to keep the scenes consistent. I solved this problem by pushing the Legos together more firmly.
If I had the chance to do this project again, I would change the way it looks. Some parts of the video do not look very good. I would improve the design to make it more visually appealing.
Hastings High School’s Career and Technical Education Program offers many courses such as Agriculture, Business Management, and Digital Multimedia. My project connects most closely to the Digital Multimedia program. This is because it involved creating and editing a video.
This project also connects to careers in filmmaking. Stop‑motion has been used in filmmaking for many years. Creating this video helped me understand how stop‑motion works in that career field.
