Jayla's Blog For 8P1- 3D Design
Making Progress:
Day 1- On day one I started with my list of 25, then I started thinking about the idea that I wanted to do, I picked house even though I might change it in the future. Then I went on Tinker Cad and started on my design, I had got to the base of the house and that is when day 1 ended.
Day 2- On day 2 I started with working on Tinker Cad on the house but then I decided to change my mind and start with a different idea. My new idea is to make a pair of glasses to wear, so I started working on it I got both of the lenses and then class ended.
Day 3- I started on the frame of the glasses and now I just have to measure it to fit my face I'm also not a hundred percent sure that I want to do this for my project so I may change it in the future.
Day 4- Today I started looking over my list again and messed with tinker cad a little bit to find what I wanted to do. I ended up making a trash can desk that the top can open and close with the words recycling.
Day 5- Today I'm going to try and start printing I have finished my desk trash can project.
In conclusion:
Using Tinker cad and the 3d printer, I created A desk trash can because when you have to throw away something small you can throw it away without getting up to walk to a big trash can.
During this process, I learned how to work on tinker cad to make a desk trash can, I also learned how to add shapes to make a trash can and to try and make it open and close.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project connects to Innovation designer because I made something new by solving a problem and being creative.
A challenge I overcame on this project was to make sure I got the circle good and make sure that it is the right size. . I was able to do it by changing the view and also with the help of a friend helped me make it the same shape and make it into a whole.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the size of the trash can and the lid size. The reason why I would change is that the desk trash can was too small and I couldn't get the lid to open and close because the whole you were supposed to open and close.
