Day 1

Today my partner had to leave early so I coded some things that I thought would be cool. I also got this website page started.

My partner was gone again but we decided on making the clap lights.

Reflection

Using the microbit, I created clap lights because I thought it was cool to clap your hands and have a light come on. I also created another thing that changes colors.
During this process, I learned to code with a different website. It was a little different but it was mainly the same thing. You can do a little bit more with the lights. You can also play music.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer. It does because without instruction I created/designed a rotation of lights changing colors and making a funky noise.
A challenge I overcame on this project was not having the website download some of my projects. I was able to do it by clicking the refresh button. I also had trouble at first figuring out how to make something but I realized that there are tutorials.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change what I made. The reason why I would change it is because I would want to learn how to code other things. Like a siren or a really loud noise to scare people.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in Mobile App Developer, Data Scientist, Game Developer, Junior Developer, and Lead Architect.
