Are you working by yourself or in a team? I am working with a partner.
What materials will you need for your project? Cardboard, plank a doos, duct tape, markers.
What is your plan to create in this project? basketball.
What unique qualities will your project have? It will look like the game basketball but it will look the way we make it.
Materials we will need for this project
Cardboard
Hot Glue
Plank a Doos
Duct Tape
Markers
Collected the cardboard andd started planning.
Got he 1st hole done and got the bottom support taped/glued on.
We got the ramp halfway done.
We decided that skeeball isn't gonna work out so we decided that we would make basketball instead. We have the ramp and the hoops almost done. We also ended up cutting the ramp because it was too big.
Today we put the project together and made some basketballs.
We had to put everything back together because it fell apart.
We finished our project and made our rules!
These are the images we took while making our project.
Using cardboard, tape, sharpie, hot glue, cardboard scissors, and a cardboard saw, my partner and I created a basketball arcade game. We chose to do that because when we tried to make skeeball, it did not work very well. We had the ramp done so we figured that we can make basketball out of what used to skeeball.
During this process, I learned that duct tape does not stick on cardboard for over 24 hours, it just falls off half way so you have to hot glue the tape on. I also learned that it is very hard to make something that actually looks like basketball out of cardboard because of how thick and NON bendy cardboard is.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I designed a project and had to make my design. I helped build and put it together. I also helped design and make the rules for the game.
A challenge I overcame on this project was working with my partner because we both had different ways of doing things and different images in our minds on what it was gonna look like. I was able to do it by going with the flow and understanding that not everything is gonna look or be the way I want it to look.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the style of our basketball structure. The reason why I would change it is because it honestly doesn't look anything like basketball. I would also change the pieces of cardboard we used. I would change the pieces because some of the cardboard was bent and had seen better days.
