Are you working by yourself or in a team?
In a group with one partner.
What materials will you need for your project?
A circuit playground and my computer.
What is your plan to create in this project?
Probably something to do with the sensors.
What unique qualities will your project have?
I have a lot of ideas for this project.
I looked at the things I could do and it was pretty similar to the micro bit so I knew some of the stuff that was on there.
Today I used a lot of sound and looked at some of the other options for the the lights.
Today I made a new sound and lights.
Today I took my screen shots and videos
Today I finished up my details for my final project.
This is the last day for me because I missed 2 days.
I worked on doing my reference sheet.
Using a Circuit Playground and my desktop computer, I was able to create a wide range of projects that incorporated lights. The ability to control the brightness of the lights gave me the flexibility to experiment with different effects, allowing me to design vibrant and eye-catching displays. This hands-on experience helped me explore the creative potential of combining coding and hardware, as I was able to make the lights react to different commands and produce dynamic visuals.
Throughout this process, I learned how to code and how to make different components work together seamlessly. This experience helped me develop a deeper understanding of programming, as well as the importance of collaboration between various elements to create a functional and cohesive project.
The seven standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project aligns with the 'Empowered Learner' standard because I took initiative in creating my own work. I independently developed the project, making decisions about its design and execution, which allowed me to build confidence in my abilities and enhance my problem-solving skills throughout the process.
One challenge I faced during this project was getting the sound to work correctly. I was able to overcome this obstacle by reaching out to my friends for help and guidance. Their input and suggestions were invaluable, and with their support, I was able to troubleshoot the issue and successfully integrate sound into the project
If I had the opportunity to do this project again, I would choose to modify the code I used. While the code I implemented was functional, it was relatively basic and didn’t fully showcase the potential for more advanced techniques. Despite this, the process was still enjoyable, and I learned a lot from experimenting with different approaches. In the future, I would challenge myself to explore more complex coding solutions to enhance the project’s functionality and make it more sophisticated.
Hastings High School’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program offers a diverse range of courses, including Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project directly aligns with the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School, as it involves applying programming skills to create practical solutions and explore real-world applications of coding.
My project is closely connected to careers in computer programming because it involved using programming skills to create functional and meaningful projects. Throughout the process, I applied key concepts from coding, problem-solving, and software development, which are essential in many programming careers. This experience helped me understand how programming is used to build solutions in various fields and gave me a hands-on opportunity to explore the practical applications of computer science in real-world scenarios
