Using TinkerCad, I created many projects like a cup, a mug, and many other things because for this project I had to make something that would solve a problem. I made these projects because I needed a sauce holder since my mom dropped all of the sauce holders and they broke. Because of this, I designed and created a new sauce holder for us to use. I also made a mug because my mom wanted one and we did not have one, so I made it for her.

During this process, I learned how to use the website called TinkerCad. I also learned how to use many of the tools on TinkerCad to design objects. Another thing I learned was how to build projects step by step using shapes and measurements. Finally, I learned how to export my project and turn it in on Google Classroom.

The seven standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project connects most to the Innovative Designer standard. This is because I brainstormed lots of ideas before starting my designs. I also used digital tools to plan my projects and manage the design process.

One challenge I overcame during this project was learning how to rotate tools in TinkerCad. Another challenge was figuring out how to line objects up correctly with each other. I solved the rotation problem by asking my classmates for help. To line things up, I searched on Google to learn how to make everything line up perfectly.

If I were given the chance to do this project again, I would change how small my sauce holder is. I would change it because it could be bigger and work better if it was resized. To fix this, I would adjust the size and redesign it from the beginning. I would also change how I built all of my projects because some of them are kind of boring.

Hastings High School’s Career and Technical Education program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects most closely to the Engineering Design CTE program. This program focuses on problem solving and creating designs to fix real-world issues. That is exactly what I did by designing useful 3D models.

My project connects to careers like a 3D Designer because I used computer software to create three-dimensional models. A 3D Designer creates designs that can solve problems or be used for different purposes. These designs can be used in games, movies, or product design. This project helped me understand how 3D design can be used in real-life careers.
