today we starterd to add the sleevse and then we are getting more fabric for the numbers

we finished the jersey and we added cool detalias to make it look better
Using the sewing machine, iPad, and my computer, I created an NBA jersey. My partner and I both play basketball, so we thought it would be a cool project to make together. We planned the design using digital tools before starting the sewing process. This helped us stay organized and create something we were proud of.
During this process, I learned that you can’t use the sewing machine for everything. Some parts of the jersey required hand sewing instead. At first, I didn’t expect that hand sewing would be necessary. This taught me that different tools are needed for different parts of a project.
The seven standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project connects most to the Innovative Designer standard. We learned how to use equipment like a sewing machine that we had never used before. By learning and applying these skills, we were able to successfully create our jersey.
A challenge I had to overcome while working on this project was hand sewing. We originally thought hand sewing would take too long and slow us down. I was able to overcome this challenge by using my time wisely. Staying focused and avoiding distractions helped me get the work done.
If I were given the chance to do this project again, I would change the size of the jersey. The current jersey is a little uneven in some areas. It also only fits me and not my partner. Making better measurements would improve the final result.
Hastings High School’s Career and Technical Education program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program. Designing and creating the jersey required planning, problem-solving, and hands-on work. These are all important skills used in engineering design.
My project also connects to careers like seamstress or dressmaker. These careers involve sewing clothing and making sure it fits people correctly. Seamstresses also repair and adjust clothing when needed. This project helped me understand how important precision and skill are in these jobs.
