game design

using my computer and scratch I created five game designs, ( Game Story, Racing game, Maze Game, Platform Game, and an Escape Game) because I enjoy making and playing video games. during this process I learned how to code using scratch and how to use the different kinds of code blocks in scratch. The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Computational Thinker because I had to work on the computer to code and play the game. A challenge I overcame while working on my game design project was signing in, I would make the scratch project and get it all done but then the next day it would be all gone, I overcame this challenge with some help from my mom. Given a chance to do my game design project again I would maybe add a spin to the presets that CS First gave me, like changing the characters or changing the obstacles or in the maze I could've added a chaser to chase the knight., I would change this because I thought that the things that were already there were pretty boring and I could spice it up. Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My game design project connects to the Digital Multimedia CTE program at Hastings High School. My game design project connects to careers in Game Design.
