we drew our design and decided what stuff would be made of
We made the table for the table tennis and we started making the legs for the table
we extended the table and made 2 legs
we finished the legs and started making the rackets
we put on the legs and finished the rackets also making a holder for the ball
we added another leg for support in the middle and we also added the ball holder and we got ready to put on the net
We finished adding everything to the table tennis and started making our videos
Using iMovie, cardboard hot glue and tape, I created my cardboard creation and a video of it. I did this because my teacher showed me a video that inspired me to make this. Another reason I made this is because I thought it would be fun to make.
During this process, I learned how to make large scale things out of cardboard. Another thing I learned how to do is how to make a cardboard tennis table, The third thing I learned how to do is tear duct tape with my hands.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because me and my partner decided what we wanted to make and we designed it. Me an my partner also built it all our selves.
A challenge I overcame on this project was making the legs of the table. I was able to do it by cutting out the cardboard and my partner would glue it together. I also measured and marked it with a pencil to make it easier for myself.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the cardboard piece we used to extend the table. The reason why I would change it is because it wasn't very sturdy. Another reason why is because the cardboard was squished and beaten up around the edges.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects to the engineering and design CTE program at Hastings High School. I think that my project connects to Engineering and Design because we built our own individual things out of cardboard.
My project connects to careers in Carpentry. One reason my projects connects to carpenters is because Me and my partner designed and planned out how to make our tennis table. Me and my partner also built the tennis table with no other help.
