Nobody is doing the same exact thing as me and my partner.
Using Dash, an iPad, and a PC, I created a basketball game to build something fun and different. I utilized the Blockly app to program Dash, adjusting the launch strength through percentage-based settings to fine-tune the distance and force of each shot. This project not only enhanced my programming skills but also demonstrated how coding parameters directly influence the robot's physical actions, making the game both educational and entertaining.
During this process, I learned how to program the Dash robot to launch balls with varying amounts of power. By using the Blockly app, I was able to adjust the launch strength through percentage-based settings, allowing me to fine-tune the distance and force of each shot. A significant challenge I faced during this project was learning how to make the launcher fit Dash. Initially, the parts didn't align properly, and I struggled to figure out how to adjust them. Through careful readjustment and by adding the necessary components, I was able to successfully fit the launcher onto Dash, enhancing the functionality of my basketball game.
Given the opportunity to redo this project, I would approach it differently. The initial experience was challenging, particularly because Dash frequently encountered issues with the program we developed. These difficulties highlighted the need for a more reliable setup and a deeper understanding of the robot's functionalities.
