My partner and I created a LEGO soccer game using an iPad, LEGO bricks, a PC, iMovie, and iMotion to promote healthy lifestyle choices. We chose stop-motion animation to creatively showcase the benefits of physical activity through a fun and engaging medium. This project allowed us to combine technology and creativity to deliver a meaningful message about health and wellness. During this process, I learned how to use the app Imotion and how to make a stop motion movie..
My project aligns with the ISTE Global Collaborator standard because my partner and I used digital tools to create a stop-motion LEGO soccer game and shared it with a global audience through a website. By collaborating on both the animation and the website, we worked as a team to promote healthy lifestyle choices and connect with viewers beyond our classroom. This experience helped us understand how technology can be used to engage with others worldwide and contribute to meaningful conversations about wellness.
One challenge I overcame during this project was learning how to edit and adjust the speed of our stop-motion video. By watching tutorials and practicing in iMovie, I discovered how to use the speed controls to make our animation flow more smoothly. This new skill helped bring our LEGO soccer game to life and made the final video more engaging.
If I had the chance to redo this project, I would adjust the iPad's angle and make better use of the display features. In some parts of our video, the iPad screen moves up and down, causing noticeable shakiness. By stabilizing the camera setup and utilizing the display tools more effectively, we could have achieved smoother and more professional-looking footage.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the digital mulitmedia CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in animation because animators often need to edit their work and incorporate music to enhance storytelling. In professional animation, roles like sound editors and music editors are essential for assembling and refining audio elements, ensuring that visuals and sound align seamlessly. By editing our video and adding music, we practiced skills that are integral to the animation industry.
