Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working by myself.
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need tinkercad and a 3d printer
What is your plan to create in this project?
I will plan out my list of 10 and choose 2 or 3 of those and create them; whichever one is the best is the one I will print.
What unique qualities will your project have?
I won't copy any one else and my project will be different from others.
Day 2 - Making a mug
Day 3 - Finishing my mug
Day 4 - Added last details to my mug
Using tinker cad, I created a hairbrush, a fidget toy, a bookmark, and a pencil holder because they would all be used to solve problems. This was cool to me because i knew that what ever one i would print would solve a problem. I also knew that what ever one i had to print had to be unique to catch the person that would use it eyes.
During this process, I learned how to group the shapes together properly. Another thing i learned was how to make your own shapes with the drawing tool. These were pretty necessary for me to learn because you need to know how to group in order to print.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Global collaborator because all of my work is being spreaded across the world. It also ties to Digital citizen because nothing i made was disrespectful or would disturbed anyone.
A challenge I overcame on this project was getting the right lengths on all shapes so that they were the same. I was able to do it by just making copies of the objects so that they were identical. Another thing i overcame was getting the bookmark level. I overcome it by asking one of my friends what i was doing wrong and then they corrected me.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the design of the hairbrush to make it look a little more complex and not as scary looking. The reason why I would change it is because it would get more people to notice it and not just laugh at it. I would also change the fidget toy to make it look cooler and add more texture to it. I would do this because it would help people better.
