Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team? I am working with other people.
What materials will you need for your project? I will need a tablet, Bolt, Dash, Sphero Mini, iRobot.
What is your plan to create in this project? I will work together with my team and stay focused.
What unique qualities will your project have? I will have different things in the project that other people don't.
Using an iPad, iMovies, and 3 different robots, I created 3 different codes on the iPad. I made 3 different codes because in order to get dash, bolt and the sphero mini to move you need to code them to do what you want them to.
During this process, I learned how to code different robots to make them do what I wanted them to.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Creative Communicator because I was communicating with my partners.
A challenge I overcame on this project was trying to figure out how to code the robots correctly and make them do what I wanted. I overcame this by asking my partners questions and figuring it out by experimenting with different ideas.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change what I did with my projects. The reason why I would change it is because I do not want to have the same things. I would change how I made the ball fall off of dash. I would also change what I did on bolt.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in Software developer.
