Using Sphero and coding app, I created a code that could make my sphero go through a maze and follow the shape of a square. I had to code the Sphero to manipulate it to go in the shape of a square and follow a maze with different lengths. I did this because it was a given project by Mr. Renner.
During this process, I learned how to code better. I also learned how to move my sphero in the direction i want it to go. Lastly I learned how to code my sphero to change colors, and rotate to go in a different direction.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to empowered learner because I had to set personal learning goals. I also had to learn and ask questions to get the project done.
A challenge I overcame on this project was how to code the sphero in the direction i wanted it to go. I was able to do it by asking questions. I also overcame this by trying new things to see if they worked.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change how i use my time. The reason why I would change it is because it took me a long time messing around when i could have gotten my work done sooner. I would also perfect how my sphero went around the corners to make it go through smoother.
This project connect to careers in coding. This project could help someone to code better and learn how to make the sphero look like it knows where its going. It could also connect to careers in making video games and other coding careers.
