Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working by myself
What materials will you need for your project?
iPad, computer, and MICRO:BIT.
What is your plan to create in this project?
A video game from my own creative mind
What unique qualities will your project have?
I will use my imagination and knowledge for my own interesting game. Even if it goes wrong it will still be fun coding!
As a start, I learned how to make my name.
Did some tutorials (disappeared???)
Started coding, got to do some fixing to coding
Got the starting, basically a demo right now.
Have the demo finished, just need to fix some bugs.
Finished with my game!

Using an iPad, computer, and MICRO:BIT, I created a little game because I like to play videogames and I like to code. The iPad helped get rid of background sounds, the computer helped present my movie and the process, and the MICRO:BIT was the main reason why this game exists. This was very fun to make because making my own game made me happy. This project showed me that hard work is a step closer to success.
During this process, I learned how to code a MICRO:BIT. I coded the MICRO:BIT by going to the official website, loaded up the "MakeCode" coder option, and sent my code to my MICRO:BIT. You can also code the MICRO:BIT with Python and JavaScript.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner, Knowledge Constructer, and Innovative Designer, because, like an Empowered Learner, I used my MICRO:BIT and computer to achieve my game. Also, like a Knowledge Constructer, I learned how to code, improving my technical thinking. Lastly, like an Innovative Designer, I developed, tested, and improved my game on MICRO:BIT.
A challenge I overcame on this project was how to code with JavaScript. I was able to do it by doing tutorials on the website. I still need to figure out how to code Python.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change nothing. The reason why I wouldn't change it is because it was a goal that I was proud to achieve.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programmer CTE program at Hastings High School. It connects to this CTE program because I did coding. It's kind of simple to explain how it connects to the program.
My project connects to careers in Software developer/engineer: because I can design, develop, and maintain software applications for computers and mobile devices.
