We are grateful to our Veterans and their families for their commitment to the United States.
Here is helpful information in regards to making the most of your educational benefits through the Veterans Administration, and how we partner with the VA, and your family to put these benefits to use.
If you believe you are eligible to receive educational benefits, as a veteran or a dependent of a US veteran; please begin at this website: https://www.va.gov/education/how-to-apply/ and look for the green box of "Find Your Education Benefits Form". Please send a copy the Certificate of Eligibility addressed to the student to hcfinaid@hastings.edu.
The Veterans Administration requests that all Certificate of Eligibility forms be submitted by the HC certifying officer to the VA within 30 days of first day of class for each semester; in order for benefits to be utilized for that semester.
If you are receiving a housing stipend benefit, it will be mailed to the students permanent address. Arrival of first payment may take several months. **during such events as government shutdowns, it is possible these payments may be delayed.**
Any changes to your enrollment status (dropping below full-time enrollment) may affect your benefits. We recommend reaching out to your VA contact, for specific details. Any required repayment to the VA or to Hastings College is the responsibility of the student.
