RETURNING APPLICANTS WHO BORROWED FOR HC STUDENT
All students who have utilized a PLUS loan at Hastings College before July 1, 2026 will have the following legacy exemptions through the 2028-2029 academic year:
Parent borrowing limit is not capped.
No aggregate limit on borrowing
THIS EXEMPTION expires at the end of the 2028-2029 year, the student completes their HC undergraduate degree program, or graduates from HC, whichever comes first; at which time all PLUS Loan borrowing would be an annual max of $20,000 with a lifetime cap of $65,000 per student.
Campus employment is paid directly to the student and is not used as a credit toward tuition charges.
If your statement shows a refund due to you (ex. $10.00), the earliest date for refunds is approximately two weeks after the semester begins. Refunds are generated out of the Student Accounts office.
Financial aid is awarded for the academic year but tuition and fees are billed by semester.
The financial award letter is an estimate of the direct charges for tuition, general fees, housing and meal plans; based on your selections. This does not include other charges, such as music lesson fees, variance in housing choices, class fees or athletic fees.
If you are utilizing federal loans, the origination fee has been deducted before it is disbursed to your billing statement.
