Offers will NOT be mailed. It is important to log into your Financial Aid Portal to review and accept the terms and conditions and any pending financial aid that you are eligible for. All scholarship and grant dollars will be automatically accepted. The 2025-2026 FAFSA is now open. FAFSA's are now being received by Hastings College.

Financial aid for Spring 2026 will disburse on January 13, 2026.
For students wanting federal financial aid, the Financial Aid Office strongly recommends having your 2025-2026 FAFSA filed as soon as possible. We cannot originate federal loans after the last day of a semester you are attending. You can now file your 2026-2027 FAFSA.
Your enrollment status is very important for determining your eligibility for federal financial aid, specifically the Federal Pell Grant and FSEOG (Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant). Pell Grant eligible students will have their eligibility recalculated throughout a semester (fall-spring-summer) There is an established census date within each block. This is the last day to drop a class with no notation. If you add classes, drop classes or withdrawal during the semester, you are strongly encouraged to check with the Financial Aid Office to see how it MAY impact your federal aid or institutional financial aid. Your financial aid depends on your semester and block enrollment status. Academic withdrawal information begins on page 17 of the HC Student Academic Policies for important dates within each block.
Undergraduate students must be enrolled full time in order to receive Hastings College scholarships. A student choosing to be part-time will be charged per credit hour, with no Hastings College scholarship monies applicable. Federal aid may be available, depending on credit hours for the term.
For those students that have applied for Federal financial aid (FAFSA) and are a dependent, there are annual loan limits based on the number of earned credits. (0-26 credits=$5,500/year, 27-56 credits=$6,500/year and 57+ credits=$7,500/year.) Independent student annual loan limits are also based on the number of earned credits. (0-26 credits=$9,500/year, 27-56 credits=$10,500/year and 57+ credits=$12,500/year.) Some students can increase in eligibility mid year. If you qualify for additional eligibility, please contact the Financial Aid Office hcfinaid@hastings.edu.
Any student at Hastings College can request a review of their current institutional aid. One year grants can be awarded, thanks to generous donors that have supported the Broncos Together Fund. This is a need based grant and students must be accepting all of the self-help aid in order to be considered. Funds are awarded on a rolling basis and reviews are on going throughout the school year or for an upcoming school year.
Hastings College has emergency grants available to help current students that are facing a sudden financial hardship due to a crisis or very unexpected situation. Please complete this brief application form.

Students returning to Hastings College will have their institutional merit and need grants renewed automatically. Talent scholarships and departmental scholarships will be renewed as long as students are meeting the requirements.
Students no longer wishing to participate in their talent area can apply for scholarship replacement funds.
Federal financial aid can only be renewed by completing an updated FAFSA for the upcoming award year. www.studentaid.gov
Hastings College has limited funding for supplemental federal grants, federal work study and state grants. For best consideration, students should have their FAFSA completed before May 1.
Students with a completed financial aid file will receive their financial aid offer notification no later than May 1st for the upcoming year.
Students can complete our outside scholarship form and your financial aid counselor will add these to your award. You will be sent notification via email when you have a revised financial aid offer in your financial aid portal. The form is also available in your financial aid portal. Scholarships will be divided between the two semesters, unless otherwise stated by the organization providing the scholarship.
Students can complete our payment form at any time before the beginning of the school year. By selecting one of the options, it helps the Financial Aid and HC Student Accounts Offices help communicate with you about your next steps. For example, if you select Parent PLUS loan, the Financial Aid Office will send you instructions for how to apply for a PLUS loan.
Yes-they do need to apply every year, however, if the same parent is going to borrow the PLUS loan, they do not have to complete another master promissory note, just the PLUS application. Before applying, be sure you have filed an updated FAFSA for that particular school year.
Just like each year you need to complete a FAFSA, each year the parent must first apply for the PLUS loan. If they are once again denied, the Financial Aid Office will notify you via email that you have a revised financial aid offer to view in Financial Aid Portal.
