Our central idea this term is: 'Governing systems impact the lives its community members'.
We will be exploring the following lines of inquiry:
What governing systems are. (Form)
Why governing systems are important. (Function)
How decisions impact communities. (Causation)
We enjoyed continuing our work on seasons this week. We went on a walk to spot the signs of spring. We looked at the Oak tree on the bottom field. We thought that it might have had lots of green leaves but all we could see was buds on the branches. We will check this tree later this term to see if it has changed.
The holly bush was still green.
We used natural materials to create a spring picture.
Sunshine
Bumble Bee
We became geographers this week by exploring the features of our school grounds. We enjoyed recording what we could see in the different areas of the school.
We enjoyed visiting Ash Church on Wednesday. We saw lots of the different features that we have learnt about in RE.

We learnt about the importance of candles, sang a song and looked around to see how many crosses we could find.
We had a lovely afternoon on Friday. We took part in a range of different coronation activities and enjoyed our healthy snack.
We took part in a parade to show eachother the crowns and flags we had made.
In DT last week, we designed a new puppet. We decided to make a puppet so that we can create a puppet show at the end of term. This week, we enjoyed sewing our puppet together. We were very tenacious and persevered when it got tricky.
We have enjoyed making self-portraits in Art this term. We looked at the work of several different artists and created some self-portraits of our own. We used a variety of media such as collage and paint. We also created a self-portrait on the iPad in the style of the artist Julian Opie.
We enjoyed performing in a puppet show this week. We worked in groups to tell a story using our characters.
