Week 1
We enjoyed working as a group to sort and describe different materials this week.
We thought of some great adjectives:

Week 2
We have had a very busy week this week. Not only have we been working incredibly hard with our learning, we have enjoyed a police visit and World Book Day too!
Police Visit
We had the opportunity to meet two police officers and a detective this week. We were able to try on clothes, stroke the police dogs and sit in a police car. We had lots of fun!
World Book Day
We made some fantastic potato chatacters at home. We took our characters to our World Book Day assembly and enjoyed showing the school what we'd made.
On Friday, we dressed up as a word. We had a vocaublary parade in the hall during assembly to show everyone our outfits.
Week 3
We enjoyed exploring different materials this week. We worked in groups to sort the materials and thought about words we could use to describe them.

Week 4
We have been working hard on our French in Year 1. This term, we have been continuing to learn how to say some animal names in French.

Week 5
We enjoyed being inquirers this week.
We carried out an investigation to find out which materials were waterproof. We made a prediction and then tested different materials. We found out that the plastic and the foil were both waterproof.
In Computing, we have been using the programme Scratch.
We made three rockets have a race by selecting a space background and three rocket sprites. We were able to label each rocket and change their colours. We gave each rocket an algorithm and controlled the speed they travelled.
Week 6
For our DT this term, we have been designing and making a new toy. We learnt about different attachement techniques and were able to use some of these to connect the parts together.
