The Individual Learning Plan (ILP) is a single document that chronicles a candidate's journey for each year in Induction. The ILP is broken in three parts:
Professional Learning Goal,
Action Research Implementation, and the
Reflection / Application.
TPA / RICA Candidates Only: While you will develop an Initial Inquiry Goals based on the CSTP's in the ILP, you will have a secondary goal for completing either the RICA or TPA. Your RICA and TPA take precedent and can be your main focus until your assessment is completed. To add this secondary goal, write it in Cell 4 of the ILP below your focus question. Your mentor of the Induction Office can answer any questions regarding RICA and TPA supports. Also, please check out the Teacher Induction Support webpage.
This section of the ILP documents where the candidate determines the area of focus, how that focus was derived, and anticipated measured of student achievement. The area for focus should be informed by, but not limited to, the candidate's transition plan, school-site focus, the self-assessment, classroom observations, conversations with your mentor, and student work.
GOALS: Determine and establish initial ILP focus and anticipated measured results.
Cells 1-4 are due for the September Milestone*
Review the Continuum of Teaching Practice with your mentor and document your results in cell 3a.
Preliminary Transition Plan: This is the document from the candidate's Preliminary Program that identifies the TPE strengths and areas for growth.
School Site Professional Learning: This is discussed at the Professional Growth Conversation with your administrator and mentor.

RUBRIC: Develop a professional inquiry goal that supports learning experiences for all students within the context of the CSTP’s
This section of the ILP documents the ongoing implementation of new strategies that are related to the focus question. Responses should address all parts of the prompts for each cell, elaborate on claims made, and use evidence to support claims.
GOAL: Have at least one entry per month (eight to ten entries by April)

April Milestone*: Submit remaining five to seven strategies

This section of the ILP promotes reflection of the action research implementation and how the actions taken during this year transcends to future professional growth. The application of new ideas plants the seeds for more new ideas: Plan, Teach, Reflect, Apply.
GOAL: Reflection on the application of new ideas.

How did the application of new ideas move teaching practice forward?
Impact on student achievement. Did student meet the anticipated results?
What new ideas have been generated? How will you continue to move forward and grow as an educator? Make sure to cite the CSTP you would like to focus on.

Evidence: This section will have three to five pieces of evidence referenced from the Action Research Implementation that support the claims made about the application of new ideas, impact on students, and continued growth as an educator. These pieces of evidence will only be attached to the ILP for the final ILP submission.
RUBRIC: Provide responses and evidence to document candidate reflection and development throughout the Induction experience.
Observation of a Veteran Teacher: One of your Action Research resources has to be an observation of a veteran teacher. You can use this form for the observation, but it is not required. This can be one of your pieces of evidence for your ILP.
Professional Goals Conversation: The PGC is a conversation with your site administrator and is facilitated by your mentor. You will discuss the ILP focus, plans to measure student results, and receive input from your administrator on the school site-focus. The goal is to ensure your ILP goals are inclusive of the school-site focus. This conversation in inform "School Site Professional Learning Focus" cell in the ILP. Your mentor will fill out the form during/after the conversation and share with you to upload as a Milestone. This is uploaded as a Milestone in September*.
Mid-Year Professional Goals: The MYPGC is similar to the PGC but the focus will be an update on ILP/Induction progress. Also, your mentor will fill out the form during/after the meeting and then the candidate will upload as a Milestone. This is uploaded to Induction Support in January*.

Important Reminder: The PGC & MYPGC are positive conversations with your administrator that focus on the determined ILP goals and progress in meeting those goals. This is not an evaluative review nor a review of classroom observations. Your classroom work with Induction is confidential.
