PAR vs. Induction: What is the difference between PAR and Induction?
PAR is a local agency, Hart District, requirement (HDTA Contract Article 26.1) and is not a component of the Induction Program. HDTA Contract states that the Hart District "shall provide peer assistance and review to all first-year teachers in the District who have less than three full years of experience on regular contracts."
Induction is a California State Accredited program that is required to Clear a candidate's Preliminary Credential. As a state accredited program, Hart Induction is tasked to provide a two-year, individualized, job-embedded system of mentoring, support and professional learning that begins in the teacher’s first year of teaching.
While some candidates may be enrolled in both programs simultaneously, Induction is a California Accredited program and your Induction work will never be used to evaluate a candidate's progress in PAR. All Candidates in Induction, whether in PAR or not, complete the same program requirements to clear their credential.
