All students 17 and younger seeking employment are required by PA law to apply for a work permit. Students are not permitted to work, but can accept a job offer prior to applying for a work permit.
Applications for Work Permits can be obtained in the High School Office Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Parent/Legal Guardian must sign the Application for Work Permit (Form PDE-4565) in the presence of the Issuing Officer.
*If the Parent/Legal Guardian is unable to sign the application in person due to work schedule, transportation, etc. the Application for Work Permit (Form PDE-4565) may be completed in the presence of a Notary Public and attached to the notarized Attestation Document (Form PDE-4565A).
Parent/Legal Guardian must show student’s original proof of age/ID to the Issuing Officer. Examples include Birth Certificate, Driver’s License, State Issued ID or Passport.
If student does not attend Hanover High School or Hanover Middle School, a current school ID or most recent report card must be provided as proof of enrollment. This includes students attending Delone Catholic, York County School of Technology, Cyber Charter Schools, Homeschool, etc.
Issuing Officer will complete the Work Permit (Form PDE-4566). Student must be present to sign the Work Permit.
