We have had a wonderful first full week of school! I have truly enjoyed getting to know each of the students. We have been busy establishing classroom routines, building friendships, and creating a positive learning environment. Students have done very well adjusting to our routines and procedures. I am looking forward to a fantastic year of learning and growing together!

Friday is a pizza day! Please make sure your child knows their order by Wednesday.

You are welcome to join us for chapel on Wednesday. Chapel will begin at 9:00 in the gym.

A backpack pages packet will be sent home in your child's folder at the beginning of this week. This packet contains the assigned pages for Monday through Thursday to help your child practice their spelling words throughout the week. Please have the completed packet returned on Friday. Beginning next week, students will bring home a Backpack Pages workbook that will stay at home for the remainder of the year.

Friendly Reminders

Please be sure to send your child with a healthy morning snack and water bottle each day.

Weekly Expectations

Reading: Please have your child read aloud to you for 20 minutes each night and record the title on the homework log.

Math: On Tuesdays and Thursdays, your child will have a practice timed math facts test. The test will come home for you to review with your child and finish completing if needed. Please return the completed test the next day.

We will start the math homework in class each day. At the end of our math time, your child will take home their math homework, completed or not, to be reviewed with a parent and completed if necessary. All math pages must be returned the following day to be looked over by the teacher and reviewed as a class.

Memory Verse: Please help your child memorize their assigned memory verse.

Superkids Backpack Pages: You will be receiving a Superkids workbook to keep at home that we will refer to as “Backpack Pages.” You will be responsible for helping your child tear out and complete the assigned pages each week. These pages will be turned in each day. The weekly spelling list and assigned backpack pages will be updated below each week and tested on Friday. (These workbooks will be sent home next week.)
