Book Fair

A book fair by the I:55 Book Fair company will be held in the HCS library from Monday, Feb. 24 - Friday, Feb. 28. Students will have a scheduled preview visit and may create a "wish list" of items that interest them, and they will bring the list (including item prices) home for you to view. Students will have an opportunity to make purchases during their scheduled library time. If you wish to allow your child to make a purchase, please send a small zip lock bag with appropriate cash for purchases.

The book fair will also be open for family sales each day after school, from 2:45-3:45 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, and also after early dismissals on Wednesday and Friday.

Grandparents Day

Grandparents Day is coming soon on February 28th. Grandparents are welcome to come to campus at 10 Am. They will be able to view the Kindergarten-5th grade program at 10:15 and will be excused to go visit students' classrooms by 11. Once the grandparents have visited their grandchildren's classrooms, they may take their grandchild with them. Please be thinking about how your student will be going home that day, as it is a half day. You can communicate with me if there are any specific instructions for your student that day!

Friendly Reminders

Library Books must be returned to school on Thursday.

Please be sure your child is wearing appropriate shoes and clothes for P.E. on Mondays and Fridays.

Weekly Expectations

Reading: Please have your child read aloud to you for 20 minutes each night and record the title on the homework log.

Math: On Tuesdays and Thursdays, your child will have a practice timed math facts test. The test will come home for you to review with your child and finish completing if needed. Please return the completed test the next day.

We will start the math homework in class each day. At the end of our math time, your child will take home their math homework, completed or not, to be reviewed with a parent and completed if necessary. All math pages must be returned the following day to be looked over by the teacher and reviewed as a class.

Memory Verse: Please help your child memorize their assigned memory verse.

Superkids Backpack Pages: You have received a Superkids workbook to keep at home that we will refer to as “Backpack Pages.” You are responsible for helping your child tear out and complete the assigned pages each week. These pages will be turned in on Friday. The weekly spelling list and assigned backpack pages will be updated below each week and tested on Friday.
