Each fall, PAC participants attend an overnight retreat and spend time building community, reflecting on personal growth, and recharging in a beautiful natural setting.
Retreat Activities and Focus Areas
Games and Community-Building: Make friends and get to know members of PAC with fun games and insightful activities designed to bring people together!
Workshops and Panels: Interactive sessions on thriving in college: goal setting, identifying personal strengths and self-discovery.
Group Discussions and Reflections: Facilitated discussions on meaningful topics related to thriving in college where students can learn new skills, share insights, and explore challenges in a supportive environment.
Wellness and Relaxation: Sessions on mindfulness and relaxation techniques to unwind and rejuvenate. Quiet time alone or in small groups to rest and recharge after a busy semester.

Rabbi Esther Adler
Associate Chaplain
Rabbi Esther Adler has been Associate Chaplain at Hamline since 2005. She is also Associate Rabbi at Mount Zion Temple, just down the road. Rabbi Adler holds a BA in Flute Performance from UCLA (1980), a Masters (1985), Rabbinic Ordination (1987), and Doctor of Divinity (2012) from Hebrew Union College Jewish Institute of Religion, and a Masters in Jewish History from Yale University (1992).
Shih-Hsun Lin
Counselor, Licensed Psychologist
Shih-Hsu Lin works in Counseling and Health Services at Hamline University and has experience working in counseling centers at Eastern Illinois University, University of Minnesota and Michigan State University. He has experience working and volunteering at community mental health settings, such as the Walk-In Counseling Center; Community University Health Care Center and Taipei Municipal Yang-Ming Hospital.
Jeff Bailey
Professor of Practice - Music
Jeff is Director of the Certificate in Music Production Program at Hamline University and has performed in a wide variety of musical settings as a musician, composer, producer, and educator. He has performed with world renowned artists and composed original music and sound design for: The Royale (Yellow Tree), Rule of Thumb (Park Square), Target’s Lifescape series, Crowns (New Dawn Theater), B.A.M’s Next Wave Festival, White Savior (Sparkhouse), and Punic Wars (Keith Antar Mason and The Hittite Empire).
Eli Scriver
Coordinator of Gender + Sexualities Student Program
Elleri (Eli) Scriver is the Coordinator of Gender + Sexualities Student Programs at Hamline and a Certified Sexuality Educator with the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists. He is a Knox College alumnus and a passionate supporter of the liberal arts.

Retreat Meals
Nourishing meals are provided to all participants in a communal dining setting. Get to know your fellow Pipers over a hot meal, smores at the campfire, and snacks in between sessions. Vegan, vegetarian, and GF options are available upon request. Note: All meals are prepared in a common kitchen.
