Juniors:
PSAT at Hamilton High School
Tuesday, October 7, 2025
*Registration link will be live on September 2nd, 2025*
The PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) will be given on Tuesday, October 7th, 2025 from 7:20–10:30 a.m. at Hamilton High School. This voluntary test provides an opportunity for college-bound juniors to experience and practice taking a shortened version of the SAT Reasoning Test. (The SAT can be used for the University of Wisconsin System admission although the ACT is preferred.)
The PSAT is the only route of entry into the National Merit Scholarship Competition (NMSC) for Juniors and may be required for some other scholarships. The most common reasons for taking the PSAT/NMSQT are:
To receive feedback on your strengths and weaknesses on skills necessary for college study. You can then focus your preparation on those areas that could most benefit from additional study or practice.
To see how your performance on an admissions test might compare with that of others applying to college.
To enter the competition for scholarships from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (grade 11).
To help prepare for the SAT. You can become familiar with the kinds of questions and the exact directions you will see on the SAT.
Interested junior students must register and pay the $20 test fee by clicking on the link below on or before Monday, September 22nd. Please know that we have a limited number of spots available for this test and students will be signed up on a first come, first serve basis. Written and P.A. announcements will be made to make students and parents aware.
