Our Parent/Student Handbook is online this year.  You can access the handbook by clicking on this link.

A Word from Mrs. Bright

Welcome to April! We hope everyone had a wonderful and restful spring break. The last few weeks of the school year will be busy at FBES.  There are many important dates below so please take a few minutes to look at the Dates to Remember section so you are updated on what is going on at FBES.

We appreciate everyone's support of our recent PTO catalog fundraiser.  The purchased items will be available for pick up at FBES on Friday, April 12th beginning at 12:00 PM in the learning commons.

Our annual Parent and Family Engagement Input Meeting is coming up on Thursday, April 11 at 8:30 AM in the FBES learning commons.  This morning meeting is in person.  We also have a Zoom option for our families at 5:30 PM in the evening.  The link for the Zoom meeting will be shared the day before the meeting. The same information will be presented at both meetings so parents only need to attend one of the sessions.  The Zoom session will be recorded and the link to the recorded session will be shared after the meeting.

Did you miss our March Snacks and Facts Workshop on Mental Health and PBIS?  If so, you can watch the recordings at the links here:  English  or  Spanish.  The PBIS matrix that is mentioned in the recordings can be found here:  English or Spanish.

If you are visiting FBES anytime, please stop by the Lost and Found area to check for any clothing items your child(ren) may have lost.  Any unclaimed items will be donated to charity at the end of the year.  Lost and Found is located outside our cafeteria (near the doors the students exit the cafeteria).

We will be sponsoring another Frozen Frenzee day on Thursday, April 11.  Students can bring $3.00 to school to purchase a frozen frenzee treat. Money will be turned in to the child's homeroom teacher in the morning before school starts.  The treats will be picked up on students' way back to class from lunch.

Field Day is coming soon (May 16).  If you want to volunteer to work one of the stations, you MUST  complete the Volunteer Application Process and be approved prior to Field Day.  All volunteers must complete the two-step volunteer approval process in order to volunteer at FBES.  This process includes a questionnaire and training modules.  Both of these steps must be completed before you can help with field day.  This process is to keep our students safe while they are at FBES.  The details about volunteering  can be found at this link.  Please allow two weeks for the approval email to be sent to you after you have complete the application process. The video at this LINK can also help you with this process.

Our PTO will be selling Field Day t-shirts from now until April 19th.  The t-shirts are $5 each and paid via cash or check payable to FBES PTO.  The order form is below and was sent home with students in Monday folders.  Due to volume, we are limiting shirts to one shirt per student.

Our second semester Enrichment Clusters are coming to an end for the year.  Students will be inviting parents to come to FBES on the night of April 25 from 6:30-7:30 to see the great projects they have completed in their enrichment clusters this semester.

Thank you for your support of our school!

Amy Bright

Previously Published Information:

Parents when you come to lunch, please remember that you can only eat lunch with your own personal child.  ALL lunch visitors must be listed on student's emergency card in the front office. Students' friends cannot be invited to sit on the stage for lunch.  Remember no outside food is allowed in our cafeteria.  Lunch visitors should refrain from taking pictures or videos inside the cafeteria that include other students. Not all students have a photo release and some cannot be photographed at school.

Volunteer Information:  Are you interested in volunteering at FBES for events such as Book Fairs, enrichment cluster help, guest readers, Field Day, PTO events?  If so, please go to this LINK for all of the information you need to get started with this process.  This process must be completed each year (even if you volunteered last year-you must re-apply each year).  The video at this LINK can also help you with this process.

Counselor's Corner

If you would like a copy of any of the tools below, please reach out to Wendy Trinh, School Counselor. Wendy.Trinh@hallco.org

Regulation Railroad

The Regulation Railroad is taught through our Tier 1 Sources of Strength lessons. This tool helps students work through their emotions.

Feelings Wheel

Simply naming our emotions helps the amygdala part of the brain regulate. This also puts the thinking / more rational brain back in charge.

Five Finger Breathing

This calm down strategy was taught by Ms. Trinh through classroom guidance. This is a great tool to use in part 4 of the Regulation Railroad.

DAISY Award

This year, we are giving our parents an opportunity to recognize staff members with our DAISY Award.  The DAISY Award can be given by parents to FBES Staff Members for being a Dedicated Adult Investing in Successful Youth.  It's as simple as clicking here and completing the form. Mrs. Bright will recognize the recipient each time the DAISY Award is submitted.  We can't wait to celebrate our wonderful staff for all they do for our students!

SY 24 School Meals Payment Information

The breakfast and lunch menus can be found here. Breakfast is $1.10 for students and lunch is $1.95 each day.  Lunch visitors can purchase a meal for $4.50 and must be paid in cash.

You can use MyPayments Plus to pay for your child's school meals.  Meal payments can also be made via cash or check (made payable to the school) by sending the payment to school with your child in an envelope labeled with your child's name, grade, teacher, and what the money is for (lunch money). Students can only charge up to $10.00 at a time.  Items such as extra milks can not be charged.
