Clinic: Our nurse, Gail Watson, will be at Lula every day. Students requiring medication, whether prescription or non-prescription, must have a medication form on file in the clinic. All prescription and non-prescription drugs must be in their original containers and turned in to the clinic. At no time may a teacher dispense any medication. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to our nurse, Mrs. Gail Watson:
Lunch: We take the first several weeks preparing our students with the lunchroom expectations, so we will begin to have lunchtime visitors on September 5th. Two visitors per student are welcome to come and have lunch. Weather permitting, you will eat outside at the picnic table area. Please refrain from bringing outside restaurant food, and please do not take pictures or videos so that other children are included. Please make sure you know the lunchtime of your child so that they get back to class as soon as their lunchtime is over.
Car Riders: If you are transporting your child to school, you may drop him/her off each morning through the car rider line. We begin to open doors at 7:20 am. Afternoon pick-up through the car rider line will begin at 2:25 each afternoon.
Please update your parent portal as soon as possible. You will need to complete all documents (health information sheets, etc.) on the portal as well. If you have an updated address, you will also need to update this information in the portal.
Ice Cream will now be sold every Monday for $1.00.
Transportation changes: Please call the front office from 8-1:45 to notify us of any transportation changes. Changes can not be sent via email.
Governor Brian Kemp recently signed into law the Edna Mae McGovern Act (HB 402), which requires schools at the beginning of each school year to provide parents and guardians with information regarding swimming lessons in the local community. The Hall County School District recognizes the importance of water safety and wants to support parents in their efforts to keep their children safe. If you are interested in your child learning to swim, the following locations provide lessons:
The Georgia Mountains YMCA
2455 YMCA Drive
Gainesville, GA 30501
(P) 770.297.9622
Frances Meadow Aquatic Center
1545 Community Way NE
Gainesville, GA 30501
(P) 770.533.5850.
Please note: Students who miss school to attend swimming lessons will not receive an excused absence.
