News from the Front Office

Warrior Families,

October has been an exciting month at CMCSI! Beginning Sources of Strength Week was a great way to end the month! Students have done a great job bringing in canned foods & non-perishable food items. Our school collected over 5,486 items for the Georgia Mountain Food Bank. We appreciate your support in partnering with us as we give back to our community. This is a tremendous accomplishment and we couldn't have done it without you!

Be sure and remember that Tuesday, November 8th will be a teacher work day. There is no school for students this day.

Patriotic Day is quickly approaching. This is a special day to honor and celebrate our Veterans and First Responders at CMCSI. Patriotic Day will be next Friday, November 11th at 9:00 AM. More information regarding this year's Patriotic Day can be found below.

November 21st-25th is Thanksgiving Break, and we hope this week is full of family time and rest for our Warrior families. Once we return from break, we have our Holiday Lunches to look forward to. Holiday Lunches will be December 7th, 8th, and 9th and we are excited to have parents come in for this special lunch. See information below.

We hope everyone has a terrific November. We are thankful for our CMCSI Warriors and for your continued support as we work together to help our children learn and grow. Feel free to contact us if you ever need anything.

News from the Clinic

Keep our Warriors healthy this winter with these Handwashing Reminders!

Parents and caretakers play an important role in teaching children to wash their hands. Handwashing can become a lifelong healthy habit if you start teaching it at an early age. Teach kids the five easy steps for handwashing—wet, lather, scrub, rinse and dry—and the key times to wash hands, such as after using the bathroom or before eating. You can find ways to make it fun, like making up your own handwashing song or turning it into a game.

Young children learn by imitating the behaviors of adults in their lives. When you make handwashing part of your routine, you’re setting an example for your children to follow.

Washing hands with soap and water is the best way to get rid of germs. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that has at least 60% alcohol, and wash your hands with soap and water as soon as you can.

Remember to make handwashing a healthy habit at home, school, and at play!
