News from the Front Office

It's hard to believe it is May and our Warriors only have a few weeks of school left! Our 3rd-5th Grade students are finishing strong with Milestones testing this week.

We are also celebrating our AMAZING CMCSI Teachers & Staff with Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week NEXT WEEK. We are truly blessed to have a building full of special people dedicating their lives to our CMCSI students. Next week will be a great time to show them our gratitude!

Our LAST Spirit Night for the year is on May 18th from 5:00-9:00PM at Buffalo's in Oakwood. Don't forget to tell them you are from CMCSI so your take-out or dine-in orders support our school. This is a NEW spirit night for CMCSI, so let's show up for them, Warriors!

We have some exciting events in May, as we wrap up the school year. Field Days are always a highlight of the year, and then we will be having Awards Ceremonies the following week. Parents are invited to both events (please remember a state-issued ID will be required for ALL visitors), and we're looking forward to having some fun with our Warriors! We'll honor our Graduating Seniors on May 15th and students sign yearbooks during the day on May 12th. Please see the information below for our End of Year events, and teachers will be sending home more information too.

Enjoy these last few weeks of school with your students! Thank you for giving us the privilege to serve your children and this community. It has been amazing to see how much our students have learned and grown together at CMCSI. We hope you have a wonderful summer, and as always, let us know if you need anything.

Georgia Milestones Testing: May 1st-8th

Students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades are taking the End of Grade Georgia Milestones assessment this week and the following Monday, May 8th (5th only). Please see the schedule below regarding testing. Also, the informational parent letter can be found here (English) and here (Spanish). Please be sure ALL students have breakfast, leave personal devices (cell phones, tablets, smart watches, etc.) at home on testing days and arrive on time during testing weeks. CMCSI will NOT be able to have volunteers or visitors FOR ANY GRADE LEVEL (lunch, Monday folders, etc.) in the building during testing dates due to secure testing locations throughout the building, so please plan accordingly.

May 9th-13th is Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week at CMCSI!

Due to Milestones Testing this week, PTO is sponsoring Teacher/ Staff Appreciation Week NEXT WEEK at CMCSI!

Daddy-Daughter Night at CMCSI!

**NOTE DATE CHANGE... AGAIN**

Due to bad weather, Daddy/Daughter Night will be Thursday, May 11th from 5:30PM-7:00PM on the CMCSI Field/ Track.

Skip the line, and sign up for the FREE event early here.

Daddy-Daughter Night will have inflatables, games, prizes & more for our fathers & daughters!

This event is totally FREE for CMCSI dads/dad figures and their daughters (students MUST be CMCSI students to attend- no siblings & no sons, please) with the exception of photo, food & snack costs. Hotdog Ninja and Frozen Frenzee will be at this event and food items may be purchased from them.

PTO also needs VOLUNTEERS! This means you, Moms! Volunteer sign-ups will be coming soon.

Class of 2023 Senior Walk at CMCSI

We want to honor our Graduating High School Seniors who attended CMCSI! Please help us spread the word about our Senior Walk on May 15th at 1:00 PM. High School Graduating Seniors (and their parents) are invited to CMCSI on Monday, May 15th at 1:00 for a reception and to walk the halls of CMCSI one last time before graduation. Seniors should wear their caps & gowns. ALL visitors must bring state-issued ID and sign in at the front office. We look forward to honoring our Warriors on this special occasion. Once a Warrior, Always a Warrior!

Field Day Information

Hip Hip Hooray! Field Days are just around the corner and we are looking forward to having our students participate in various outside activities.

Students will one again participate in stations and Field Day activities with their homerooms.
Volunteers & visitors will be allowed on Field Days (with state-issued ID; no siblings or non-CMCSI students). Please complete Volunteer requirements below. Please sign up to volunteer here:
Field Days will be May 15th (Kindergarten and First Grade), May 16th (Second and Third Grade), and May 17th (Fourth and Fifth Grade).
Students should wear sunscreen and a hat, bring a towel & water bottle, and wear comfortable shoes & clothes.
Frozen Frenzee will be here for ALL field days. A special thank you to Sosebee and Britt Orthodontics for purchasing a frozen frenzee icee for all students. This means every Warrior will enjoy a FREE icee on field day!

Awards Ceremonies and Class Celebrations at CMCSI

We are excited to have Awards Ceremonies to celebrate the hard work of our Warriors this year. Visitors are welcome to attend Awards Ceremonies in the gym, and they will be invited back to classrooms for a class celebration. As with all school events, ALL visitors must bring a state-issued ID and sign in at the front office before the ceremony, so please arrive early. Contact your child's teacher with questions about Award Ceremonies!

Kindergarten Registration

CMCSI is continuing to welcome students who will be entering Kindergarten during the 23-24 school year. Kindergarten Registration is OPEN ONLINE for students who will be 5 years old by September 1st, 2023. Please visit the Hall County Schools registration website to register your child for Kindergarten.

Once students are completely registered, we will send information regarding our Kindergarten Camp to be held at CMCSI July 18th-21st. Kindergarten Camp space is limited, so get your child registered soon! Contact the office with questions.

Medication Pickup and Immunization Information

All medications need to be picked up by the last day of school (5/24/23). All medications not picked up will be discarded unless prior arrangements have been made with the Nurse Shaunda.

Over the summer break plan to get all medical care plans (asthma, allergy, seizure & daily meds) updated from your child’s pediatrician so those are ready by the first day of school next year. Make sure all medication prescriptions are current & up to date. Don’t forget to schedule yearly physicals and update all immunizations that are needed. Please provide the schools with updated immunization records at the beginning of the school year.

Save yourself time by signing up for Parent Portal now! Parents will complete Open House information, view Report Cards, check attendance and many other things via Parent Portal. If you have not already done so, please sign up for Parent Portal for your child here.

Back to School Information

Open House is scheduled for Thursday, August 3rd from 3:00-6:00 pm.
Check our CMCSI Website here this summer for our 2023-2024 School Supply List. A copy of the Supply List will also be sent home with Report Cards on the last day of school.
Be sure your parent email and contact information is up to date, as we will send Open House paperwork and information early.
Friday, August 4th is the First Day of School next year!

Lost & Found

Please remember to visit the CMCSI Lost & Found before the end of the school year. All items left at CMCSI after May 24th will be donated to a local charity.

CMCSI Lunch Visitor Reservations

Please remember to PAY ALL STUDENT CHARGES before the end of the school year here.
Lunch Visitor Sign-Ups are available here.
We will NOT have lunch visitors during Georgia Milestones Testing.
Each student may have a visit for lunch 1 time per quarter to allow ALL students and parents this opportunity.
Please review the lunch visitor guidelines and available reservation time slots to sign up for a reservation that occurs during your child's grade level (Mark "Quantity: 1 for 1 reservation not number of visitors). Exact lunch times for each homeroom class may be viewed here. Contact CMCSI@hallco.org with questions.

Parents, when coming to have lunch with your child, please be sure and have exact change if purchasing a lunch for yourself. Adult lunches are $4 (cash or check only). The cafeteria cannot charge a student account, accept credit/debit cards or give change for large bills. We appreciate your help with this!

Spirit Nights

CMCSI Spirit Nights take place each month! If your family visits the restaurant or drive-thru on our CMCSI Spirit Night, a portion of the sales will be donated to the school! Be sure to tell the restaurant you are there for CMCSI Spirit Night (for CMCSI to get credit!).
