Literary Essay

In this unit, students will watch a video about the Pawnee Football Club. The teacher and class will analyze the message, tone and theme of this story. Together, each student will come up with their own theme for this particular point, citing evidence from the video/transcript that supports their claim.

In the second half of this unit, students will be able to choose from a variety of books, that all have multiple themes. This time, students will be using what they have learned from this first bend, their prior knowledge to come up with their own theme.
