UNITS OF STUDY

I will be your child's 5th grade writing teacher. One of my absolute joys is seeing each individual students' creativity, as well as the amount of growth each student makes throughout our year together.

This year, we will be writing a Personal Narrative, a Persuasive Essay, Literary Essay, and an Informational Text. Within each unit, students are expected to write more than one piece (and sometimes a multitude of pieces) as they cycle through the writing process of planning, drafting, revising, and editing.

For each of the 4 major units, be sure to continue to check the particular writing style for notes, videos, exemplars and other helpful resources.
