The silence finds its way to me
I am more jellyfish than girl
Asleep beneath the stifling sea
The silence has become my world
The jellyfish don’t have to think
They drift and ripple, dazed and dumb
But jellyfish won’t ever sink
Into the heavy thoughts that come
What kind of current would I ride
If I thought it might mean escape
The jellyfish don’t have to hide
They’ll crash headfirst into the cape
And this silence gets so lonely
Can’t be lonely without a brain
I’m fine living as jelly only
But as a human, I’m insane
No one digests my spiral mind
They like this silence where I stay
So if I leave my brain behind
No criticisms left to say
But if I am a jellyfish
The world must have no use for me
It’s not a fate that I would wish
On any other enemy
But in this fight against myself
I’m close to coming out on top
Put my emotions on a shelf
Jellyfish don’t know when to stop
