Watch them as they run and play,
Among the markers of the past,
Tall Grey Stones and a fresh patch of dirt,
They skip and laugh and tell stories of the Black Car With The Swirl,
They weave beautiful flower crowns,
White Lilies left out of love,
They sit in a circle and promise to be friends forever,
Just the three of them,
Watch them as they run back home,
Dodging through backyards and alleyways,
Laughing with tears in their eyes,
They run up their street,
Lying in bed,
A small child coughs,
As life departs.
Watch them as they ride in the Black Car With The Swirl,
Watch them as they dig in the dirt,
Watch them as they bury their secret treasures,
Just the two of them,
With tears in their eyes,
Grasping their Lilly crowns,
Looking at the tiny box,
Friends forever and always,
The two sit,
With the third nearby.
Friends forever,
And always.
