The simplest, most basic of human emotions,
A controlling manipulative thought,
Seizing control and halting progress,
Like ice floating in the cold sea,
Attributed to a bloody, beating muscle,
A jeweled heart on a chain,
Sinking through the dark sea of your consciousness,
The solution just out of reach,
The heart is the glory of humanity,
The greatest and most capable image in the world,
At least according to Disney Channel,
An ice chunk appears in the path of a quickly moving relationship,
They collide and disaster strikes,
The heart cracks down the middle,
Spilling the joy it once carried to the bottom of the cold, dark sea,
The heart is beginning to fade,
Assorted rubble floats to the top of the sea,
Lifeboats drift through the bodies of once uplifting memories,
Attaching a terrible ugliness to the light glow of past memories,
The lifeboats discover one bit of life,
Clinging to a very large door,
Plenty of room to spare,
The last bit of life is lifted into the boat,
It struggles to stand,
It gets on its feet,
And comes back to shore,
No longer adrift in the infinite sea of love.
