What should I do before coming to campus each day?

Additionally, please complete this new online COVID form if you have:
Had close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19
Had indirect contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19
Tested positive for COVID-19 yourself
Have COVID-19 symptoms:
Congestion or runny nose
Cough

Fatigue
Fever or chills
Headache
Muscle or body aches
Nausea or vomiting
New loss of taste or smell
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Sore throat
Please remember that some symptoms are similar to cold symptoms. Therefore, if you are experiencing any of the above symptoms, it’s very important to NOT come to campus AND to complete the online COVID form.
If you have any COVID-related questions, please email corona@hacc.edu. For more information, please visit hacc.edu/COVIDannouncements.

Indirect Contact: You have been in close contact with an individual who is not ill but was exposed to an individual who tested positive for COVID-19.
Positive Test: You personally received a positive COVID-19 test result.
Symptoms: Please see the self-screening process
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently issued revised guidance related to masks.
As a reminder, HACC has not changed its policy regarding masks since the start of the pandemic. Anyone approved to be on a HACC campus – even if they are fully vaccinated – is required to wear a mask that completely covers their nose and mouth at all times while on campus. The College’s official guidance on mask expectations can be found here.
Wearing a mask is a simple but important measure to help limit the spread of the coronavirus.
Tammy Winand, an alumna of HACC’s Nursing Program, graduated from high school in 2002 and said she “never considered going to college.”
She said, “No one in my family ever attended, and I always assumed I couldn’t afford it. Over the years, I held a variety of jobs, including retail and factory work but was never really satisfied. Meanwhile, a friend was attending HACC and kept encouraging me to apply, emphasizing that the tuition was extremely reasonable. It wasn’t until I found myself unemployed that I realized I needed a career I could count on.”
To read more of Tammy’s story, please visit our website.
Would you like to see YOUR students, programs or initiatives highlighted on HACC’s Twitter account? Would you like to build engagement with local businesses that can help to grow YOUR HACC program?
If you answered “yes” to either of those questions, then it is time for you to join HACC in the world of Twitter.
We have created a helpful “Twitter Best Practices” document, which is available on the “Office of College Advancement” channel of myHACC. This will guide you into the world of Twitter.
We look forward to soaring with you!
For any questions, please email imcprojects@hacc.edu.
Enthusiastically YOURS.
Despite repeated and ongoing efforts from Dr. Ski and Cabinet leadership, there continue to be rumors surrounding the sale of HACC’s Lebanon Campus building.
These rumors include:
HACC is leaving Lebanon.
HACC will not offer classes and student services at the Lebanon Campus.
HACC is not committed to Lebanon.
Like our leadership has reiterated, these rumors are false. As part of the continued efforts to eliminate these rumors, the Office of College Advancement (OCA) produced a marketing update video.
Please demonstrate to our stakeholders that HACC is still in Lebanon by using this Zoom background.
If you have any questions, please complete HACC’s online feedback form at hacc.edu/Feedback.
As Pennsylvania’s first and largest community college, HACC understands the value and importance of individuals earning their associate degree, certificate or diploma. Through various marketing and communication activities, the College consistently works to educate families in Central Pennsylvania and beyond about the value of YOUR favorite community college.
How has HACC educated families?
These are just a few ways in which HACC educates families.
In 2021, we implemented a targeted marketing campaign to parents of high school students. The campaign produced impressive results, including a click-through-rate (CTR) of 1.59% for responsive display remarketing results. These are ads that target audiences who have visited the campaign-specific landing page. We exceeded the education industry average CTR, which is 0.53%. We continue to conduct this marketing campaign.
The Admissions Department:
Communicates HACC’s benefits when interacting with parents on the phone, at an event or in campus tours
Invites parents to attend HACC’s General Information Session and Coffee Chats
Hosts virtual Dual Enrollment Parent Nights
We distribute weekly emails to parents of Dual Enrollment and College in the High School students to keep them informed of enhancements at HACC, events and more.
How does HACC plan to continue educating families?
In addition to continuing the projects above, HACC plans to develop new personas (the faces of HACC’s marketing campaigns) in the coming year that will resonate with our future students. Families will play a key role in our thought process as we determine individuals’ challenges, motivators and key influencers. As the campaigns are developed, we will continue to think about what key communications can be provided to these influencers.
We’re happy to announce that HACC’s goal for the spring 2022 semester is to offer more on-campus classes. We will:
Continue to provide a variety of course instruction offerings, including on-campus instruction, remote instruction and virtual learning
Use enrollment patterns from the fall 2021 semester and feedback from the student survey to help guide the scheduling process
Prioritize bringing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) courses on campus when possible to ensure students are prepared for the hands-on elements of careers and transfer opportunities
Continue to offer online and select on-campus student services
Continue to evaluate student-enrollment trends, COVID-19 metrics in HACC’s service region and ongoing Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), governmental and medical guidance. We will adjust course offerings as appropriate for student needs and employee and student safety.
Providing these options is a move toward the future of higher education, not just a response to the pandemic. Our students desire a variety of choices, and we must remain flexible to pivot to address their needs.
As always, YOUR safety is our top priority. Although we cannot control COVID-19 and how it spreads or guarantee safety from it, we will continue to do our part to help maintain student, employee and building safety by following protocols, as per governor’s orders and CDC recommendations.
Please visit hacc.edu/COVIDannouncements for more details and note that this information is tentative and subject to change.

Keya, a student in HACC’s Medical Assisting Program, reflected on what it’s been like to go to college while raising a family, working and navigating the pandemic. She said, “It’s been a long, rough road with a lot of obstacles, but I’m proof that no matter how hard it may be, nothing should get in the way of pursuing your dreams.”
To hear more from Keya, please watch this video.

Helpful and knowledgeable professionals at HACC make it easier for students to adjust to college. Jason, a student in the Computer Networking Technology Program, said, “It was scary taking on college at my age, and in fields that I had no experience in. As soon as I spoke with my advisor and my professor, I knew they were the perfect fit for what I've been looking for.”
To hear more about Jason’s experiences, please watch this video.

A special thanks to Murphy & Dittenhafer Architects for supporting HACC students as a proud sponsor for #GivingTuesday. Together, we are making a brighter future for our community. Thank you!
If you missed out on these three giving days, it’s not too late to help a student - like this student who received assistance:
"My 9 year old son and I are considered homeless and stay in a hotel room and finances are super tight right now. This is a HUGE blessing and much appreciated!! Thanks so much" – HACC student
Please make a gift to change a life today.
