Students may borrow a Chromebook from the classroom for use while the student is at school. These Chromebooks must stay in the InDigital classroom. 

A limited supply of Chromebooks are available for students to check-out and use over the school year. The parent/guardian must be present at check-out. HAAS Chromebooks are to be used for school work only. Students violating this policy may lose the privilege of using a HAAS computer or may have restrictions put on their HAAS account. Activities on the Chromebooks are monitored via GoGuardian. Families are responsible for damages to the Chromebook while it is checked out to their student. 

Students are required to return the computer at the end of the school year, and parents/guardians are responsible to pay for damages to the computer. 

The HAAS InDigital student emails are part of the “haaspcs.net” domain and are used to sign into the HAAS Chromebooks. Student Chromebook use is monitored via GoGuardian and haaspcs.net administration. In general, students are all started in the least restrictive “InDigital” OU (organizational unit). Students may be moved to a different organizational unit based on misuse of technology, failing to complete coursework, or at parent request. Restrictions and terms for the organizational units may be updated at any time by HAAS. For more details on appropriate use of technology please see the following documents found in the HAAS Handbook: (1) Agreement for Use of Instructional Property Form and (2) Acceptable Practice & Disciplinary Action Form. Organizational Units:

1. "InDigital" - All students start in this OU, it is the least restrictive. 

• General restrictions on web browsing (social media, netflix, etc.)

• HAAS Email unrestricted (Send and Receive)

• Chat enabled

2. "The Blackhole" - for students who are found cheating, viewing inappropriate websites, or who are behind in their coursework. Parents can request students be moved into this OU. Students are typically moved to this OU for 2 weeks on the first offense. However, this is based on the student and the situation. 

• Browsing restricted to allow access to a specific set of websites  

• Access to email; no access to add email accounts, 

• Access to chats

3. "The Blackhole E&C restricted"

• Browsing restricted to allow access to a specific set of websites  

• Access to email teachers only, (teachers in haaspcs.net, classroom.google.com) 

• No access to add email accounts 

• No access to chats

4. "The Blackhole Advanced"

• Browsing restricted to allow access to a specific set of websites   

• No access to email (can leave notes for teachers in Google Classroom private comments) 

• No access to chats
