Teachers mark attendance at 2 pm each day. If a student is marked absent in one class it will trigger a call from the attendance office.
If you receive an attendance call, please check in with your student about their progress in their classes - both in Apex and Google Classroom. If they are unsure why they were marked absent, please check with the teacher for the class they were marked absent in.
Classes are marked independently. If a student spends the day only working in their math class, and they are behind in science, they will be marked absent in science.
Students are encouraged to attend class meetings set by the teacher, and these meetings may be used to mark attendance.
Students who are in face-to-face classes, such as AP classes or elective classes, are required to physically attend those classes.
Students are invited to attend school and work in the HAAS InDigital classrooms. We have two classrooms - one for the high school students and one for middle school students. Please see the schedules page for our classroom schedule.
We ask that students who attend school on campus be respectful of their peers and the HAAS staff when they come to school to work. We want to make sure that our classroom is a location where those who come can be productive.
Students who do not meet the code of conduct (outlined in the HAAS Student Handbook) will face disciplinary consequences. Students with repeated conduct concerns may be asked to attend virtually only.
