In the winter, the Everglades has a cooler temperature from December through April and the temperature ranges from 77f to a low 53f. The summer is humid and hot, about 90f. There are lots of mosquitoes and thunderstorms. From June to November, it’s hurricane season and there are lots of storms. The average rainfall is 60 inches per year.
In Miami, where the zoo is located, the winter temperatures range from 78f to 83f. The summers are very hot and humid and the temperature ranges from 87f to 91f. June to November is also hurricane season in Miami, there are a lot of storms and rain, and the temp is between the 80’s and 90’s.
Overall, the temperature of the Everglades is very similar to Miami except that it get a little bit cooler in the winters. Animals that live in the Everglades should adapt well to the climate in the zoo, except for being restricted in space.
