The Florida Kingsnake is native to the Everglades. It has a dark brown background with 22-66 orange and yellow cross bands. It likes to live in subtropical areas and feeds on any animal such as birds, lizards, and frogs. It's really heavy and can reach 5 ft in length. In Zoo Miami, it must be kept in cages where it cannot escape. They adapt well in captivity in certain temperatures. The temperature control is important because it helps indigestion.
