LAKESIDE CHRISTIAN HELPS CENTER

Provides a three-day supply of emergency food to needy families and individuals once a month. Diapers and formula provided when available. Two outfits of clothing provided to each family member once per month. Blankets, sheets and pillowcases available. Limited to Lakeside residents. No Fees.

Picture ID, SS Card, Child(rens), SS Card, or MediCal, or Birth Certificate necessary. Crisis House provides services designed to break the cycle of poverty, domestic violence and homelessness and to promote self-sufficiency. We vision a new life of economic stability for the homeless that will influence their children's desire for self-sufficiency in adulthood. Call for availability.

Emergency services

  • Food Pantry-Provides families and individuals in crisis with 2-3 days of supplemental food products. A client assessment is required and participation in self-help programs are encouraged. No hot food is being provided because of COVID.

  • Children's Pantry-Infant care products including formula, baby food and hygiene supplies are available to East County residents who qualify for emergency services.

  • Clothing-Clothing vouchers are issued to individuals for redemption at collaborating local thrift stores.

LASSD provides low-income clients with free civil legal assistance, including legal advice and counsel, effective referrals, and legal representation.

Some assistance includes:

  • Health: FREE help to those with problems gaining health coverage or health services who qualify for LASSD services. They can help if there are changes in your health services, or when there is a termination or change in health coverage.

  • Housing: FREE legal help for those who qualify with problems or questions in housing, such as being evicted, wanting to know your rights as a tenant, public housing questions or terminations, denied housing or housing access due to discrimination.

  • Support for families: LASSD provides support for families and individuals in providing free legal help with access to CalWORKs/Cal fresh, child custody/visitation, and ssi.

  • Free clinics: Do you need help with Court? LASSD offers free workshops and clinics for several types of cases. Eviction, Conservatorship, Restraining Orders, Federal Tax Debts, Civil Appeals, Debt Collection Defense and Medi-Cal/CalFresh/CalWorks hearings. Most clinics are at or near the court where your case will be or was filed.

This online resource provides 24/7 support to military families for everything from non-medical counseling to tax preparation services to scholarship information for eligible dependents.
