Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®)
Colleges/Universities use your FAFSA data to determine your federal aid eligibility. Many states and colleges use FAFSA data to award their own aid. After submission, you’ll receive your Student Aid Report
The 205-26 FAFSA form will be LIVE and available as of December 1, 2024!
You submit a FAFSA if you are a U.S. Citizen, National or Permanent Resident.
What you will need to complete the FAFSA:
FSA ID (username/password)
parent/guardian FSA ID
Your Social Security Number (SSN)
parent/guardian Social Security Number (SSN)
if your parent/guardian does not have a SSN you will enter 000-00-0000 and print a parent signature page at the end
Drivers License (if you have one)
Parent/Guardian 2022 Tax records/2022 W-2 Forms
Any records of untaxed income
Any records of assets
List of schools you're interested in applying for
ex. UCSB, SDSU, Cuyamaca College, Pepperdine University
Once you have submitted your FAFSA, you will receive an email from California Webgrants. On this site, you will be able to check your application status, verify your school of attendance for the Fall 2023, check your award amount and # of years left of financial aid eligibility.
