As we prepared for the San Diego Regional, we took the time to set up an exhibit at STEAM Academy on Wednesday Night. A little rain could not stop us from this community event. This is the 6th year that Matador Engineering has worked the STEAM Academy SMATH Night event.
At Grossmont Center, we show the community the opportunities the Grossmont Union High School District has to give. Together, we show the community the opportunities Grossmont Union High School District offers in STEM. Our team members show our guests how to move and play. We also share our stories on how engineering has become our passion.
We set up our robots in their play area. Welcoming anyone to come play and learn with our robots. Being able to try out our VEX bots and even our competition bot Ptouneigh Haaulke
Team members show our guests how to move and play. Sharing their stories on what has made engineering their passion.

Our goal is to inspire future generations in the field of robotics and engineering, one way we do this is by going to local middle schools. This year we have visited, Lemon Grove Academy, Spring Valley Academy, Keiller Middle School, and STEAM Academy.
Presenting our robot and sharing our experiences on how engineering has changed us for the better. While visiting these middle schools, our team talked about the engineering process of trial by error and failing forward.

Team 14968 hosted a two-week robotics Challenge Camp alongside TRIO at our workshop and computer labs. TRIO Upward Bound Math & Science has provided immense support and opportunities for students who come from disadvantaged backgrounds. Providing one-on-one advising, financial aid, college resources, and exposure to growing fields. It was our pleasure to host them during our Challenge Camp.
