The GUHSD Health Pathways is proud to offer our students four opportunities for summer enrichment. Students can apply for the following programs:
HESI at Sharp Grossmont Hospital
EMT at Health Occupations Center (HOC)
MA at HOC
CNA at HOC
Successful completion of a summer program would qualify as an internship, which is one of the requirements for gold certification within the Health Pathways. More importantly, an or CNA, EMT* or MA certification would make the student employable within the healthcare field, while the HESI internship would give the student 5 elective credits on their high school transcript. The requirements and application process can be found in the "Summer Opportunities" tab to the left. If you have any questions about these programs, or need assistance with the application process, please reach out to the GUHSD Health Pathway Coordinator Todd Linke.
*The EMT class will provide the student the opportunity to take the National Registry EMT test, but county affiliation and LIveScan fingerprinting would be the student's responsibility.
