There are opportunities for students to participate in healthcare workforce experiences during the school year:
AlzSD - A virtual internship sponsored by Alzheimer's San Diego
Medication Technician (Med Tech) - An on-site certification program sponsored by Grossmont Gardens Senior Living
Successful completion of either of these school year programs would qualify as an internship, which is one of the requirements for gold certification within the Health Pathways. In addition, the Med Tech certification would make the student employable within the healthcare field*. If you have any questions about these programs, or need assistance with the application process, please reach out to the GUHSD Health Pathway Coordinator Todd Linke.
*The Med Tech shadowing experience must be completed when the student is 18 years old, in order for the full certification to be issued.
