2024 Innovation in Education Impact Award

GUHSD Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Summer Certification

As the Premier Sponsor of the Classroom of the Future Foundation (CFF), North Island Credit Union Foundation recently presented the organization’s prestigious 2024 Innovation in Education Impact Award to Grossmont Union High School District for its Patient Care Pipeline Program. In recognition of the award, NICU Foundation provided GUHSD with $10,000 to support student participation in its Patient Care Pipeline, a unique program that prepares high school students for a variety of healthcare career opportunities. By providing access to health pathways, hands-on learning and certification programs, Patient Care Pipeline facilitates social mobility for students, removes barriers for underrepresented students and prepares future healthcare workers that are in demand in the region.

Four classroom programs are recognized for their ability to get students excited about learning and enhance outcomes through the effective use of technology. The Impact Award is given to the program that exceeds all others in its ability to impact students and teachers.

North Island Credit Union Foundation presents the 2024 Innovation in Education Impact Award to Grossmont Union High School District for its Patient Care Pipeline Program at the 21st Annual Classroom of the Future Foundation Awards event on May 16, 2024.

2024 Golden Bell Award

GUHSD Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Summer Certification

The CSBA Golden Bell Awards® promote excellence in education by recognizing outstanding programs in school districts throughout California. The Golden Bell Awards reflect the depth and breadth of education programs supporting these programs that are necessary to address students’ changing needs.

Grossmont Union High School District was presented the Golden Bell Award for the Health in the Community Pathway, along with districtwide participation from all Health Pathways in the Certified Nursing Assistant summer program.

After completion of Health pathways, students may enroll in the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program at the GUHSD Health Occupations Center (HOC) where they prepare for the state CNA license exam. This program increases economic mobility and equitable outcomes for underrepresented students by improving access to Health pathways and certification programs.
