El Capitan Family Letter - March 23, 2020

Dear El Capitan Families,

We wanted to reach out to you during these unprecedented times to let you know that we are thinking about you and have been compiling resources for you. We are all still experiencing quite a bit of uncertainty and encourage you to follow all guidance from our national, state and local governments to keep your families and our community safe. We also encourage you to keep updated with district communication at www.guhsd.net (including where to locate food distribution sites as they have changed).

During the currently scheduled closure through April 13th, ECHS counselors will not be available, although email may be checked periodically. As always, we will be taking the direction of our district in how best to continue to support our families. During school closures, Mending Matters will be providing teletherapy to students at our site. Current clients will be contacted by our site therapist. Short term support for students can also be provided by contacting Mending Matters at (619) 940- 9165 or referrals@mendingmatters.org for more information. Please keep an eye on your email after April 16th. Juniors, access El Capitan Counseling COVID-19 webpage and stay connected via your Class of 2021 google classroom for unique resources for you or updates we receive that may impact preparation for post-secondary plans.

Seniors, we know this is not how any of you expected your year to go. We understand that many of you are disappointed and concerned with what this means for you and the many activities that you were looking forward to. We do not have answers for you at this time, but please know that we care and are here for you. We are proud of you and all that you have accomplished. Please continue to stay connected via Class of 2020 google classroom and utilize the resources we make available to you on our Counseling website. Please do not let this crisis paralyze you from continuing to work toward your future goals. We are dedicated to assist in any way we can! For now, we leave you with this article:
